You do not talk to a crew from Updatednumbers Roofing, because Updatednumbers Roofing does not do the roofing. You talk to an independent provider in our network. That provider is a separate local business. They look at your roof, explain what they see, and give you a quote.

What happens first

It starts with a short request. You share what is going on and how to reach you. Then a local provider gets in touch, and many providers can respond quickly. Timing depends on the provider and the season, so ask about availability.

On that first conversation, expect plain questions. How old is the roof? Where do you see leaks or damage? Was there a recent storm? What kind of home do you have? Answers help the provider plan a visit.

What to ask the provider

Ask before you sign. Here are questions, and what a good answer sounds like.

• Will you give me a written quote? A good answer is yes, with materials and steps listed.
• Can you work around my family's day? A good answer covers start times, noise, parking, and how pets and kids are kept safe.
• What if it rains? A good answer explains how they cover an open roof and how they reschedule.
• Can you help document damage for a claim? Many providers can, but they cannot promise what your insurer will decide. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy.

Red flags to notice

Be careful if someone pushes you to sign today, asks for a large payment up front, or will not put the price in writing. Take your time. A good provider will not mind.
